Cognitive scaffolds
▸
First Step — when adding a task, fill in "the 5-second move" (e.g. put left shoe on). It shows as a soft blue bar under the task and is what your brain sees first — friction-free entry instead of the full chore.
🧠
Quick Capture — press ⌘K from anywhere to dump a 3-word idea. Review them later via the 📥 Inbox button on the Today card. Each capture can become a task with one click.
🔒
Dopamine Gate — tag tasks as Execute (cortisol) or Plan (dopamine). Plan tasks dim until you log 15 min of execute work today. Soft enforcement: dimmed, not blocked. Default 15 min, configurable.
●
Domain Modes — tag tasks with a domain (school, lifting, drums…). Each domain runs in Active or KTLO (keep-the-lights-on) mode. KTLO tasks fade so they don't compete with active builds. Toggle in the Cognitive scaffolds section.
⏱
Time Anchor — when enabled, fires a discreet toast every 25 min during focus sessions: "Time check: 3:47 PM · check on your people." Externalizes the internal clock that hyperfocus suppresses.
Hidden details
  • The all-day strip caps each column at a height-derived number of items — drag the handle to change density.
  • The calendar grid fits one viewport without scrolling at zoom ≤ 100%. Zoom in to expand hour rows for finer time precision.
  • Tasks with subtasks show a ▸ 0/N steps chip; click to expand inline. Each step can have its own scheduled date via the 📅 icon.
  • Hover a row in the Bank to reveal the ✕ delete (left-red on hover) and the ⧉ ✎ action buttons.
  • Bank rows auto-color their left edge by urgency: red (overdue) → orange (24h) → yellow (week) → blue (later).
  • Toasts stack at most 3 — older ones evict to keep the screen calm.
  • The Archive on the Todo List shows today's completions only — yesterday's stay in storage but don't pollute today's view.
  • Press the Today button on the calendar to jump back to the current week / day.
  • iCal imports preserve recurring events (RRULE), exceptions (EXDATE), time zones, and per-calendar colors.
Turn things off

Every scaffold is opt-out. Open Settings (⚙ in the sidebar) → Scaffolds to toggle First Step, Quick Capture, Dopamine Gate, Domain Modes, or Time Anchor individually. The app falls back to a clean classic todo list when all five are off.
